On-Grid Solar System
Home - On-Grid Solar SystemOn-Grid Solar System
An On-Grid Solar System is a solar power setup that is directly connected to the BESCOM electricity grid. It generates electricity from sunlight using solar panels installed on the rooftop and supplies that power to your home or business through a solar inverter. The inverter converts the DC electricity produced by the panels into AC electricity, which can be used for running lights, fans, air conditioners, and other appliances. In this system, solar power is used first during the daytime. If the solar energy generated is more than your requirement, the extra electricity is automatically sent back to the BESCOM grid. Through a net meter, the exported units are recorded and adjusted in your electricity bill. If the solar power is not sufficient, such as during nighttime or cloudy weather, electricity is automatically taken from the BESCOM grid. This ensures continuous power supply without interruption.
On-Grid systems do not use batteries, which makes them more affordable and low maintenance compared to other types of solar systems. However, during a power cut, the system automatically shuts down for safety reasons, so it does not provide backup power. The main purpose of an On-Grid Solar System is to reduce electricity bills by maximizing the use of free solar energy while staying connected to the grid for support. It is ideal for homes, offices, shops, and businesses that have a stable electricity supply and want to save money while using clean and environmentally friendly energy.
